Sometimes at the end of a shitty day, week, year etc. etc. the only consolation I can truly rely on is good music. Generally speaking, there are always those songs that, despite what terrible circumstances you find youself in, have an innate ability to pry their way through your cloudy consciousness and make things okay - if only for the standard 3 minutes and 30 seconds that your average pop tune endures. Songs that make you smile regardless of whether or not your dog died, you got dicked around at work, or you blew a relatively new tire on 95 South during one of those nasty Nor’easters. I know that for my sake at least, music has always been my battery, that too-cool-for-school fucking rabbit (that actually looks eerily familiar tothe chester the cheeto guy) banging on drums inside my head and heart when the world has left me tired and desolate.
Well just in case you were wondering what the damn point is, “Mother We Just Can’t Get Enough,” by a little 90s pop/rock outfit known as New Radicals is without a inkling of a doubt one of those songs. In fact, it could very well be the mother of them all. Besides, as I’m always in a throwback mood, this song surely fits the bill. Maybe it’ll make your day a little better.
Back later with some new(er) tunes. First Quarter is bringing tons of goodies this year.
